It’s always a pleasure to visit a city which has a large variety of architectural styles – and from this post, I can see that Bucharest certainly does. ~James

That’s true. These are just a few examples of architectural styles, rather hidden from the better known spots. There’s a lot more to see in Bucharest. Will post a few other things soon 🙂

Thank you! It really is quite a mix of different styles and architectural influences. Most of these buildings have an interesting story, often intertwined with that of their owners, who were once important figures in Bucharest and Europe.

I envy you! I live in British Columbia where nothing is old! I adore Europe. I’ll have to live vicariously through your blog. 😉

Thank you. But you know, there are things to envy about living in British Columbia, too…the coast, the mountains, the nature. I’ve never been to the west coast but have always wanted to see BC. I guess we’ll just have to live vicariously through each other’s blogs. *sigh* 🙂 Enjoy!!

Thank for your visit and comment! I’m glad you enjoyed the pictures. The architecture in Bucharest is very varied but you have to go off the beaten track to discover it all. I plan to post some photos soon of things to see in Bucharest – architecture most tourists will actually run into 🙂

It’s quite surprising that in a small block of houses you can find so many different styles of architecture. Almost all these photos were taken in one neighbourhood, close to the Victory Square. Glad you enjoyed them!
